Manage storage for mainframe
The mainframe dashboard provides you with a single place to monitor and manage configured splits, CU images, volumes, and storage groups.

To access the mainframe dashboard:
Steps
- Select the storage system.

Hosts > Mainframe to open the mainframe dashboard.
The mainframe dashboard is organized into the following areas:
- Directors panel
- Navigable Links panel
- SRDF CKD Relationships panel
- CKD SRP Effective Capacity Usage panel
- Action Links panel
- System Snapshot Usage tab
- System Provisioned Capacity tab
- SRDF CKD Group Status panel
DirectorsThe Directors panel displays icons representing the status of directors under Performance and Hardware headings.
To open the Performance dashboard for that director type, click the director type in the Performance section.
To open the hardware list of directors for that director type, click the director type in the Hardware section.
Navigable LinksPerformance The following performance data is displayed: - Host IOs
- Latency
- Throughput
CKD Protection The CKD Protection section has graphics displaying the number and status of CKD storage groups. To go to the CKD tab of the Protection dashboard, click the CKD Protection heading. Mainframe Objects The Mainframe Objects section lists the total number of each of the following mainframe objects: - Splits
- CU Images
- Volumes
- Storage Groups
To open the list view for any of these objects, click the number of objects.
SRDF CKD RelationshipsThe SRDF CKD Relationships panel displays a topology graphic showing the CKD SRDF relationship information. The color of the link indicates the status of the SRDF pair:
- Green: Synchronized, Sync in Progress, Consistent
- Yellow: Suspended, Split, Failed Over, R1 Updated, R1 Update in Progress, Invalid.
- Red: Partitioned, Transmit Idle.
A tooltip displays the number of SRDF groups with each status, and each mode (Synchronous, Adaptive Copy, and Asynchronous).
CKD SRP Effective Capacity UsageThe CKD SRP Effective Capacity Usage panel displays a graphic showing the following information:
- Total effective capacity
- Percentage used
- Capacity used by snapshot
- Capacity used by user
- Saved capacity
- Free capacity
To go to the Capacity dashboard, click the CKD SRP Effective Capacity Usage heading.
Action LinksThe Action Links panel displays the following links:
Provision Storage Clicking this link opens the Mainframe Provision wizard, which guides you through the process of provisioning storage for a mainframe. For more information, see Provision Storage wizard for mainframe. Create CKD Volumes Clicking this link opens the Create Volume dialog, from where you can create a CKD volume. For more information, see Create CKD volumes. System Snapshot UsageThe System Snapshot Usage tab displays a graphic showing the amount of used snapshot capacity and how close the system is to breaching its threshold.
System Provisioned CapacityThe System Provisioned Capacity tab displays a graphic showing the amount of used provisioned capacity and how close the system is to breaching its threshold.
SRDF CKD Group StatusThe SRDF CKD Group Status displays the following information about the status of CKD SRDF groups:
- Name—Name of the CKD group
- Status—Status indicated by an icon:
- Green: Synchronized, Synchronization in Progress, Consistent
- Yellow: Suspended, Split, Failed Over, R1 Updated, R1 Update in Progress, Invalid.
- Red: Partitioned, Transmit Idle.
- Modes—Mode of the CKD group, for example, Synchronous, Adaptive Copy, Asynchronous
- Emulation—Emulation used by the CKD group
- Online—Indicates if the CKD group is online.
